While I had been thinking about adopting for awhile, it was not until April 2001 that I started seriously planning. During the last few years I began researching adoption - both domestically and internationally. I always was drawn back to China. Some of you may ask why China? The best answer that I can give is that I know deep in my heart that China is where my daughter is.
The first step in the adoption process is to find an agency that has a China program and is licensed in your state. There are many wonderful agencies out there and this process took much longer than I thought. I finally chose CCAI. Once I had chosen my agency it was time to begin the paperchase (gathering all the documents that will be needed for your dossier and homestudy).
