Now riffle the end of the cards that is sitcking out with your left thumb by pulling the cards down and letting them snap back into position, while doing this tell the spectatr this, "Tell me when to stop riffleing the cards". When they say stop, stop and put your left index finger in the location of the stop. With your thumb grasp the outer right corner of the small packet of cards and the inner right corner with your left middle finger. Refer to Fig 4. above to see what the position of your left fingers looks like. Now lift the packet of cards with your left thumb like your opening a book at the same time pull the packet away, while this is happening your right thumb (the one on top of the top card) pulls the top card onto the bottom half of the deck. Now just put the top half under the bottom half and square up the cards. The original top card is still on the top of the deck. TIP: when your first learing this control it`s a good idea to flip the top card face up and then practice. When you get the move just right, you can then practice with if face down. |

The Double Lift |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is a fairly simple manuever for showing two cards as one. It is normaly done with the two cards on the top of the deck. Your start by getting a finger break under the top two cards and lift them as one, I normaly hold it with the thumb at the inner skinny end with my index and middle finger on the outer skinny end of the deck. Their are differnt ways to get the top two cards like squezing the deck with the fingers of the left hand and and when the top two cards are seperated from the rest of the deck, and grabed by the fingers of the right hand. That method might not work for you. The main thing to remember is prcatice! Don`t perform this until your get it right. Now after you have shown the two cards as one put them back down onto the deck. You can then proced to deal the real top card onto a table or anything and then proceed to control your card to oh say the bottom of the deck and reveal it the have mysteriously taveled or something. It`s a very useful tactic in card handaling and, if used correctly can provide astounding effects. |
