Backyard Assault Results

(November 11th 2001)

There will be no backyard barbecue, this will be a Backyard Assault!

Welcome to the Show
Johnny Isles and Rob Sternberg hit the ring and welcome us to the pay-Per-View. Sternberg disses the RVC fans, and attempts to talk in their "language" which apparently includes the words "chillin" and "dogg" a lot. Calypso hits the ring, and apparently he's got something to say himself. Now he welcomes us to Backyard Assault, and he begins to mention the BBA World Heavyweight Title match. However, he is interrupted by BTOF's music!?!? The former BBA Commissioner hits the ring for a surprise appearance at the BBA's second PPV. He talks about how he lost his job, and that he is going to be back in the BBA. He wants to be the Commish again, and Calypso does not agree. He explains that BTOF doesn't even like to wrestle, and that nobody gives a damn about him. Calypso seems to have signaled to the back, and wait a minute...here comes the entire BBA roster!!! BTOF is completely surrounded in the center of the ring, and everybody waits a couple of seconds before finally destroying BTOF! This apparently was not in the script, as Sternberg keeps calling it a shoot. Calypso nails BTOF with a chair a couple of times, Viper nails him with Guilt By Association, and Calypso hits a Frog Splash onto a chair covered BTOF. M80 nails the Flipping Leg Drop as the entire BBA has left BTOF in ruins.

Match Number: 1
Wrestlers: Big Tub Of Fat vs. Mike Savage
Match Details: 1-on-1, Commissionership
Right after the devastating beat-down on BTOF, he was placed in a match for the Commissioner Job of the BBA! They trash talk for a couple of seconds before Savage kicks BTOF in the ribs. BTOF did not have much of anything for this match to drag on. He stumbled around the ring for most of the match, and really had no opportunity. Savage nails an implant DDT, picks him up, and does it again. Savage nails the diving leg drop off the turnbuckle, and proceeds to attack the ref. Savage then nails BTOF with the Heavy Metal Kick, mailboxing BTOF over the fallen referee! Mike Savage pins him to remain the BBA Commissioner.
Winner: Mike Savage via Pinfall

At the Booth...
Johnny Isles is relieved of his duties for the night as commentator, as Firestarter takes over as commentator with Rob Sternberg. They touch on the Triple Main Event matches, first the World Heavyweight Title match between Calypso and Impostor. Both Sternberg and Firestarter give Impostor the edge. They next talk about the Intercontinental Title match between RDR and Viper, in which Sternberg gives Viper the advantage. And for the World Heavyweight Title, he believes Arch Angel has the momentum over The Franchise and will retain.

Match Number: 2
Wrestlers: Mystery Opponent vs. M80 vs. Firestarter
Title: Hardcore Championship
Current Champ: Firestarter
Match Details: Triple-Threat, Hardcore
Mike Savage told M80 last week that he was going to make his life a living hell by placing him in a match at the PPV against a "Mystery Opponent". "The Fight Song" by Marilyn Manson blares, and out comes Above Average Angelo (formerly Mankind of the OWF)! He explains that he has been trying to get a job in the BBA for the last couple of years, and that Craig Dixon wouldn't interview him. So, he decides to interview himself. He "hires" himself and shakes his own hand. M80's music hits, and out comes the former Hardcore Champion. The Hardcore Champion Firestarter hits the ring next, and will defend his title in a Hardcore Triple Threat match. M80 starts things off with nailing Firestarter with a bat, followed by Angelo. Firestarter grabs the bat from M80 and now he hits both AAA and M80. Angelo shows his first signs of offense as he attacks Firestarter. The referee and fans begin throwing weapons into the ring, and a license plate ends up cracking M80 in the skull. Firestarter attempts to pin M80, but it is broken up by AAA. Angelo comes back and now nails M80 with a wooden plank. Firestarter now has a wooden cane of sorts and nails Angelo with it, but is nailed with the wooden plank by M80. M80 connects with a DDT on Angelo, and now hits him with the plank. Angelo and Firestarter start to brawl outside the ring, and M80 springboards off the turnbuckle to nail a suicide dive! M80 connects with a leg drop, and looks like he tried for the M-Factor but was caught by Angelo who sent him down with a spinebuster! Angelo tried to lock in a Boston crab, but Firestarter was there to stop him. Firestarter pins AAA, but he kicks out after two. M80 comes back and nails Firestarter with the Twist of Fate, but Angelo steals the cover for a two count! M80 was not pleased with that as he locks in a leg lock. Firestarter has a belt and wraps it around his fist to nail M80 with the buckle! Firestarter looks like he sets up for Up In Flames on AAA, but M80 is there to clothesline him with a bat! M80 nails Angelo with the bat now, sending him outside the ring. M80 nails Firestarter with the M-Factor, but Angelo tries to pin M80 as he kicks out almost immediately. Firestarter comes back and brawls with AAA outside the ring, and M80 charges them with a dropkick but only connects with AAA. M80 follows up with the Flipping Leg Drop, and M80 pins him to eliminate Angelo. Firestarter now hits an atomic drop on M80, but M80 comes back and nails the M-Factor! M80 wastes too much time trying for the pinfall, and Firestarter kicks out before three. M80 comes back though, as he nails him with a bat a couple of times before connecting with a swinging DDT. M80 kicks and punches away, but one punch by Firestarter KO's the challenger. Firestarter finishes him off with Up In Flames for the three count to retain the BBA Hardcore Championship! Firestarter has won his second match in the BBA, and for the first time has won a match completely on his own!
Post-Match Champ: Firestarter
Winner: Firestarter via Pinfall

Calypso runs and connects with another dropkick to send the Impostor over the top rope. Back in the ring, Calypso hits Impostor with a jawbreaker, and locks in the Dragon Sleeper! Impostor begins to fade, but Impostor comes back and nails a huge underhook DDT for a two count. Impostor follows up with a vertical suplex for a two count. Calypso battles back and hits a DDT, followed by a suplex where he rolls into the pinning position for a two count. Calypso hits Impostor with the Springboard Frog Splash for a near three count. Calypso seems to have hurt himself in that move. Impostor hits a throat thrust and chop blocks Calypso before locking in a leg lock. Impostor grabs the rope illegally to put more pressure on the leg of Calypso, and the ref doesn't notice it. Calypso manages to grab the ropes himself and releases the the hold. Impostor misses a clothesline, and Calypso comes back to nail a clothesline of his own. Impostor nails a neckbreaker and only gets a two count. Calypso rolls under the legs of Impostor and locks in the Walls of Calypso! Impostor puts up a battle, and manages to take off the pressure and rolls up Calypso for a two count again. Impostor takes out some frustration on the referee as he sends him down. Impostor nails Calypso with a roundhouse kick, and sends Calypso face first into the announcers table. Impostor nails Calypso with another devastating big boot and covers him but the ref is slow to make a two count. Impostor locks in a sleeper hold, and Calypso really seems to be fading. Calypso manages to regain some energy, elbows his way out, locks in an arm wrench and nails Impostor with a super kick. Calypso hits a front dropkick to the face of The Impostor, and locks in an ankle lock, but The Impostor grabs the ropes fairly quickly. Calypso goes for the Impaler, but Impostor Irish whips him off the ropes and nails Calypso with The Chokeslam! He doesn't pin Calypso, and he wants to inflict more damage on Calypso. He signals for the end of it, and he attempts for the Tombstone, but Calypso slips out of it to push Impostor off the ropes, Calypso ducks a clothesline, and is met by a kick to the abdomen by The Impostor. Impostor powerbombs Calypso, and again does not pin him. Calypso staggers to the turnbuckle and climbs it, but Impostor is there and he nails Calypso with the Tombstone Piledriver! 1...2...and Calypso somehow gets the shoulder up. Impostor looks like he is going to nail Calypso with another powerbomb. Calypso, however, manages to sunset flip over him and rolls up The Impostor to get the three count! Amazing, Calypso against all odds was able to defeat the World Television Champion Impostor to win the belt! Calypso has become the World Television Champion for the very first time, and becomes the second Grand Slam Champion in BBA history. Calypso wants to shake Impostors hand, and Impostor does. However, Impostor turns back to his evil ways and Chokeslams Calypso to the floor. The New TV Champion has been laid out. Impostor Chokeslams the referee too, and it seems like Impostor already wants a rematch for the strap he just lost.
Post-Match Champ: Calypso
Winner: Calypso via Pinfall

Real Deal Promo
Mike Savage joins us backstage to interview Real Deal Rob. Savage asks RDR how he feels about how one of his best friends (Viper) turned his back on him a couple weeks ago. RDR talks about how he and Viper have partied for the last three years. He said he's been in this position before, and now it's up to Viper to prove that he is the man. He tells Viper to question himself, and to ask himself if he can really do it. RDR says that he will have to do that if he plans on beating the Old School Icon. He will bleed a gallon and sweat five, and that's the deal, and it's for real.
