Information is indexed on all aspects of Allied Health, Nursing,
Medicine, the Social Sciences and Humanities. It contains valuable,
culturally relevant Australian information (e.g. Rural and Indigenous
Health). |

Provides indexing of the literature related to Nursing and Allied
Health. The database also provides access to abstracts, healthcare
books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards
of professional practice, educational software and audiovisual materials
in nursing. |

Produced by the U.S.A. National Library of Medicine (NLM). Medline
indexes information from all areas of medicine, health services and
administration. More than 3,900 journals are indexed, with abstracts
included for about 51% of the records. |

Produced by the American Psychological Association, covers the
professional and academic literature in psychology and the psychological
aspects of related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing,

of information supplied, drug monographs, drug class and treatment

Documents essential product information on over 2,300 prescription and
non-prescription drugs used in Australian clinical practice. |

Contains clinical decision support databases and tools, including:
- a Drug Interaction Tool - which allows you to key in a list of
drugs a patient is taking and determines the interactions between the
drugs, food, alcohol, tobacco, lab interferences and disease
contraindications
- Alternative Medicine Information - including interaction
information with prescription drugs
- Emergency Medicine, Medical and Acute Care Protocols for diagnosis
& treatment
- Poisons or Toxicology Management information - including clinical
effects, treatment, management, pharmacology and toxicology on such

cosmetics, paints, poisonous plants, street drug & prescription drug

Therapeutic Guidelines
Aim to provide succinct and explicit recommendations for therapy for a
broad range of conditions. The recommendations are an independent source
of therapeutic advice and represent consensus opinion based on evidence,
reviewed by a panel of experienced Australian practitioners. Therapeutic
Guidelines are a valuable 'second opinion' for experienced prescribers.
There are ten titles and one compilation text related to the issues
with breastfeeding and pregnancy. Some of the common titles include,
Analgesic, Antibiotic, Respiratory, and Psychotropic, amongst others.
Traditionally Therapeutic Guidelines have been distributed as
pocket-sized books. The electronic format creates exciting new
possibilities, such as improved access and searching capabilities across
the texts. |

This well-known reference has approximately 100 new drug entries of
alphabetical drug listings for quick reference information on guidelines
for upper limit of paediatric dose, drug administration and
compatibility, therapeutic drug monitoring, indications for use, trade
names and preparations available. |

Contains prescription product information, consumer medicine and
reference information for all prescription items in Australia,
incorporating Australian approved food additive numbers, patient support
organisations, and drug combinations. You will need to register to use
this free service. The information is updated monthly. |
