Nana was Bill Laskin's paternal great grandmother. All Pateks and Laskins loved these cookies
1 pound butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 hard boiled egg yolks
2 eggs, separated
1 tablespoon Brandy
6 cups Hour
1/2 lemon, grated and squeezed
Chopped nuts, sugar and cinnamon for toping.
Cream butter and sugar. Add hard boiled egg yolks, rubbed through a sieve. Add raw egg yolks, brandy and flour.
Mix until combined.
Roll dough 1/8 inch thick and brush with egg whites, beaten to a froth. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, sugar, cinnamon, lemon rind and a little lemon juice.
Bake on greased cookie sheet in350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes. Use a serrated wheel to cut into diamond shapes.
