I hope the summer finds everyone well.  It has been a rather cool summer, and as usual very busy.

June brought a visit from Mandy one of my best buds since we were 13..  While we were hanging out at her Dads on the Cape watching her 2 boys and my 2 nephews play, it was hard to imagine that her oldest Casey, is almost the same age as when we both met.  So many memories at that Cape house. Like the summer we spent between her grandmothers cape house and my grandmothers cape house.  Somewhere in Buzzards Bay is a blue bikini.  I think it was a dare, and I lost it all.  The worst part was her dad taking us shopping so I could buy a new one! That summer we also met 2 farm boys from Delaware.  It was a summer of innocent entry in to the life as a teenager...giggles about boys and riding our bikes all over Falmouth.

July 4th brought our annual trip to Mountain Trails campground in Vermont.  A campground that Chris and I have been going to since I was about 17 or 18.  My best bud Anna and her boyfriend Bob spent the weekend doing virtually nothing.  Well, we hung out at the river one day, and then the next Anna and I rented tubes and tubed down the river as the boys went dirt bike riding.  Holding hands with your best friend as you try to save each other from the mini rapids...as we laughed our asses off was the highlight of the weekend.
Speaking of 'ass', I am reminded of the shot I had to get hours before leaving on that trip due to a Hep A scare at the restaurant that I work at.  The media had a field day twisiting the facts etc. etc., and well lets just say that we did alot of standing around.  I was lucky to make $200 a week working 40 hours a week.  I doubled my ebay venture listing too many items that had be burnt out before our family trip to Bermuda.  I hate sitting in front of the computer now... it is pretty bad.  July also brought closure to my employment at Levi Strauss, it's a long story, but it had a happy ending.

The 25th, we all (Mom, Dad, Chris, my sister, brother, their spouses and 4 kids) took a cruise to Bermuda our of Boston, and we had a blast.  There were so many things to do on the island, but the most fun was just laying on the beach and jumping into the blue water.. imagining that everyday could be like that.  Oh, back to reality.

Reality it was on Monday with my dreaded birthday of 33 years.  It was spent hanging at home in the pool, a quick shift at work and a cheer with a couple of amazing friends.  The whole week brought warm wishes, an impromptu birthday party, and a dinner in my honor from Beth, the best scampi maker in the east.

So this week,  I have thought about the many things that I was, that am,  that I would like to do, and the things I thought I would have had by now (kids). It has been a real interesting and busy summer.  Times do change, but most importantly, friendships as long or as short, always hold memories or good times and bad times.

So that is my catch up.  Forgive me for not returning some of your emails or calls.  I do care how you are doing, I do want to hear whats going on in your life.  I am not depressed, I should add that I also have a case of the flu right now... and perhaps I am outta my mind with a fever.   Will catch up with next week when the flu has departed, and don't be surprised if it is by regular old US Mail!

Peace, Love and Happiness,
De
