Ever wonder, "What is truth?" The short answer is, whatever God has revealed in His word, the Bible.
"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."(John 17:17)
Reject God or His word, and you have rejected truth.
Truth is not just what you care to make it or what any man, or societies of men, may declare it to be. In other words, truth is not something relativistic. It does not change over time or vary under different cultural conditions.
Truth is timeless, just as God is eternal and unchangeable.
Furthermore, Jesus Christ is the very embodyment of truth, and truth personified.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
And Jesus bore witness to the fact that the Word of God (the Scriptures) are the truth. "Sanctify them through Thy truth, Thy word is truth." (John 17:17) Since the Scriptures are truth, the very words of God, they are to be received, believed, and obeyed. Jesus also promised those who would follow Him as His disciples and continue in His words that: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." (John 8:32)
