| Some rallies are better than others. Here Dave Lea and co-driver Tim Clemens in their Open Class Toyota Celica suffer the indignity of becoming Skipper and XO of an All Trac submarine at the 2002 Black Bear Rally. Coming around a left hand bend, the inside front wheel caught the edge of the pond and acted like the skeg on a surf board, pulling them further in. Their sheer speed carried them another 20 feet across the surface before the Toyota's momentum was halted and the car submerged. Thankfully, there were no injuries. |
