| Here's a couple of before/after shots. New capacitors were installed throughout the unit. Note the four yellow caps in each picture. These are special audio caps in the pre-amp section. They are the only original caps remaining. I did not change these, because I did not want to change the tonal qualities of the amp. I used high quality computer grade caps in this unit (mostly Nichicon). They are a vast improvement over the origianl caps. We have come a long way in capacitor technology. Thanks to the high-tech industry, capacitors must run quieter and be more compact. You can see the generally smaller size of the replacement caps. Some are much smaller... |
