Butterfly Garden

A very simple stitch pattern forms a dozen butterflies in this square.
H hook or size needed for gauge.
Ch 4; join with slip st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 15 dc in ring. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 3.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp. *# Dc in next 3 dc. # (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next dc. Repeat from * twice, then from # to # once. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 3.
Your square will get very strange looking in Rounds 3 and 4. Don't worry - Round 5 will tie it all back together!
Rnd 3: Sl st in next dc and in ch 2 sp. Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp. *# Ch 6, sk next 7 dc, # (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next corner ch 2 sp. Repeat from * twice, then from # to # once. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 3.
Rnd 4: Sl st in next dc and in ch 2 sp. Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp. *# Dc in next 2 dc, ch 6, sk ch 6 sp, dc in next 2 dc, # (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next corner ch 2 sp. Repeat from * twice, then from # to # once. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 3.
Rnd 5: Sl st in next dc and in ch 2 sp. Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp. *# Dc in next 4 dc, ch 3, tr around ch 6 of both Round 3 and Round 4, into 4th of 7 skipped dc stitches in Round 2, Ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, # (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next corner ch 2 sp. Repeat from * twice, then from # to # once. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 3.
Rnd 6: Sl st in next dc and in ch 2 sp. Ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in same sp. *# Sc in next 6 dc, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sc in tr, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sc in next 6 dc, # (sc, ch 2, sc) in next corner ch 2 sp. Repeat from * twice, then from # to # once. Join with sl st in beginning sc.

Rnd 10: Sl st in next dc and in ch 2 sp. Ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in same sp. *# Sc in next 6 dc, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sc in tr, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sc in next 7 dc, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sc in tr, 3 sc in ch 3 sp, sc in next 6 dc, # (sc, ch 2, sc) in next corner ch 2 sp. Repeat from * twice, then from # to # once. Join with sl st in beginning sc.
Rnd 11: Ch 3, dc in next sc and in each sc around, with (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each corner ch 2 sp. Finish off.
