These are my modifications to make this a 12 inch square.

H hook or size needed for gauge.

Make square as written. Do not finish off at end of Round 6. Continue as follows.

Rnd 7: (3sc) corners; sc in each dc and each ch 1 sp on each side. Join with sl st in starting sc.

Rnd 8: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in BLO of corner sc; dc in back loop only of each sc. Join with sl st in starting dc.

Rnd 9: (sc, ch 2, sc) corners; sc in back loop only of each dc. Finish off.

Rnd 10: Join next color (I used soft white) in corner ch 2 sp.
(sc, ch 2, sc) corners; sc in each sc. Finish off.

Rnd 11: Join next color (I used yellow) in corner ch 2 sp.
(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) corners; (dc, sk next dc, ch 1) across to last dc on this side,
dc in last dc before corner. Repeat around. Finish off.

Rnd 12: Join next color (I used white) in corner ch 2 sp.
(sc, ch 2, sc) corners; sc in each dc and each ch 1 sp. Finish off.

Rnd 13: Join next color (I used green) in corner ch 2 sp.
(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) corners; dc in back loop only of each sc.
Join with sl st in starting dc.

Rnd 14: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) corners; dc in each dc. Finish off.
