This is the newsletter portion of the website, which differs from the articles section. Articles will deal more with team updates and game recaps, whereas the newsletter relates to things that effect the league.
Draft Recap

The 2004 - 2005 CDFL draft took place this past weekend on August 21. It began at 9:00 pm and lasted until about 11:30. The biggest draft in CDFL history, this years year's class consisted of 16 teams, 22 rounds and a total of 352 players taken.
Many owners came prepared and seemed to handle the loss of a targeted player well. Others, maybe not so much. The North Coast Shakers led off the draft by selected LaDamian Tomlinson with their first pick. Experts thought the Shakers would select RB Priest Holmes with their pick.
The draft is still being tallied and results will begin to trickle in as to early-preseason favorites. CDFL Insider is initially leaning toward the Jackson Neersters as having the best draft of the season.
Yahoo 2005

After several days of research, Commissioner Mark Trollinger has decided to re-sign the CDFL to Yahoo Fantasy Football.
Trollinger looked at most of the major sites including sandbox.net, ESPN, NFL.COM and the Sporting News, as well as highly recommended, lesser known sites such as fantasy-freaks.com.
Fantasy-Freaks offered every proposed change, plus more that interested Trollinger. However, with the outdated news stories, message board postings describing frustration with slow changes, Trollinger sided with dependability over flexibility and went back to Yahoo. Other sites offered quality leagues, but at a fee. Yahoo is free and the league has a few years of experience with it.
Fantasy-Freaks will be monitored this season to gauge its quality and dependability. With the possibility of a keeper league, head coach points, home field advantage and mutliple divisions, Fantasy-Freaks could very well be the future home of the CDFL.
