NORTH COAST SHAKES KAMIKAZE

North Coast 73, Banzai 68

Two teams thought to finish the season middle of the pack began with a bang Sunday as North Coast squeaked by Banzai with a high scoring, 5-point win. Banzai showed their reckless abandon attitude in drawing close to the one time CDFL Champions toward the end of the game. After further review of the scoring records, Banzai was penalized three points. Still within striking distance, the Shaker defense came up big with 12 points to secure the win as Banzai tight end Boo Williams fumbled. As the gun sounded, the Shakers stood victorious over the ever-dangerous Kamikaze.

Banzai drew first blood as Quarterback Peyton Manning threw a touchdown and put up 15 points. Running back Warrick Dunn had an excellent day with two scores of his own and 15 points. Turning to offense at any source, the Kamikaze kicker exclaimed Banzai! as he drilled 12 points, adding to the assault.

North Coast withstood the attack and countered with their own ground war. The first overall pick in the CDFL draft, LaDanian Tomlinson scored a touchdown and put up 12 points. With the defense holding the Kamikaze somewhat in check, the Shakers put the finishing move on Banzai with a 3 TD, 21 point barrage by Wide Receiver Terrell Owens.

Both teams look to continue their scoring ways next week and surpass the preseason expectations. The Shakers take on pre-season favorite Central Ohio Snails (0-1) while Banzai has another tough match up with the Buckeye Beasts (1-0).
