LOUIESVILLE LIVES UP TO ITS NAME

Wilmywood 68, Louiesville 48

The upstart Louiesville Losers put forth a good opening week effort against the Wilmywood Digression, but in the end the veteran owner and former Coach of the Year, Mike Voorheis proved victorious.

The star of the Losers was the defense, which held a team that was a high scoring machine last year to average numbers. The Tennessee Defense earned Louiesville 19 points and set the stage for a week 1 upset. Running back Thomas Jones knocked in a score and a good day of receiving for tight end Antonio Gates put the Losers out to an early lead.

The Digression countered with QB Mike Vick hooking up with TE Alge Crumpler for a double score. Wilmywoods third down running back Jerome Bettis took the rock to the hizzee not once, not twice, but three times from short yardage to secure the win. Despite Louisevilles defensive effort, they could not match Wilmywoods balanced attack.

The Losers did show flashes of brilliance that may prove a building block as the season progresses. The Digression looked to be in mid-season form as they found a way to win a game, despite the other teams efforts to slow them down. They looked like a playoff caliber team today.
