Student Evaluation of Students in Lesson Subtracting Mixed Numbers with the Same Denominators using Regrouping.
Student A, seemed to do well when he showed his work, he only missed one problem when he showed his work, but he did not change the answer to simplest form. When there was regrouping involved and the student did not show his work he missed each problem. If it was simple subtraction he did not miss the problem.
For student A, I will show him that the problems he missed were due to simple errors and not showing his work. I will have him try a few more problems to see if he understands the concept.
Student B, also seemed to do well when she worked the problems out, but started to have errors when she stopped showing the proper procedure for working out the problems correctly. I also went to this student and showed her that when she stopped showing her work she got the problems wrong. I had her try a few problems and she got them all right.
