lovely lady. Dad (Tom Daglias Nixon) use to take me each Saturday and leave
me with her, while he went up the Hill to see his friends. She always wore
black, a long dress that trailed on the floor and black high neck lace
round throat. She had white hair and a little bun at the back of her head.
She walked slowly and stately. She always boiled me an egg and some lovely
new thin bread and best butter. Those days a real treat. I would bring her
a bucket of water from the pump across the way. It is still there to this
