Here are the step by step intructions for my version of the Hair Spray powered potato gun. You will need: 1 - 3 ft. piece of 1.5 in diameter ABS plastic pipe 1 - 4 in. piece of 2 in. diameter ABS plastic pipe 1 - 7 in. piece of 3 in. diameter ABS plastic pipe 1 - 1.5 to 2 in. ABS coupling 1 - 2 to 3 in. ABS coupling 1 - 3 in. ABS female adapter 1 - 3 in. screw-in plug ABS pipe glue BBQ lighter Cheap Hair Spray Steps: 1. glue 1.5 to 2 in. coupling to 3x1.5 pipe 2. glue 4x2 piece into other end of coupling 3. glue 2 to 3 in. coupling to other end of 2 in. piece 4. glue 7x3 pipe to other end of coupling 5. glue on female adapter 6. drill hole in screw-in plug just large enough to slip in the BBQ lighter 7. let dry and your done! To fire: 1. load potato(or similar projectile) into 1.5 in. pipe 2. push down to about 2.5 ft. into barrel(1.5 in. pipe) 3. make sure plug is out, put plenty of hair spray in, and put the cap on quickly 4. put BBQ lighter in drilled hole, aim, and pull the lighter's trigger. It's that simple. Suggestions: I haven't used anything but hair spray in this. One of my friends has used pledge in the one I made for him, though. Don't be afraid to use to much hair spray, I've found that more tends to work better. DO NOT AIM AT CARS, PEOPLE, ANIMALS, ETC. This fires very rapidly. I would expect EXTREMELY SEVERE INJURY IF NOT DEATH if you were to be hit with this. And it will damage cars, believe me. Don't aim too high. It shoots surprisingly straight, as you will see. If you find a better way to build this, go ahead. Oh, the pipe comes in 10 ft. lengths at the hardware store. It will end up costing about $30 to $35 to make this, and you will have lots of pipe left over. Any questions or comments can be sent to . ENJOY!!!
