(3 children saw the Virgin Mary appear to them, and were instructed by her on 18 separate occasions in 1917 in Fatima Portugal. This event was documented in the major newspapers of the time, and was formally accepted as valid by the Catholic Church.)
Medjugorje is similar, and is actually a fulfillment of Fatima.(according to messages given by the Virgin Mary. )
Six young adults in Medjugorje (Med - ju - gor - ia ) Yugoslavia (Now Bosnia-Herzogovina) saw Mary appear to them on June 24, 1981, and some of them have continued to see her each day at 5:40 P.M. local time, ever since!
The Church has not officially recognized Medjugorje, since it is Church policy to wait until a supernatural event like this to end, before a ruling is made.
The Visions of Mary at Medjugorje are unending since 1981!
Pope John Paul II has been noted as saying that if he wasn't the Pope, he would have been to Medjugorje already!
Mary has been giving monthly messages to the world, these are documented on Medjugorje.org . There is an extensive concordance to the messages on that site.

I used to work in a Christian Bookstore, Life Resources, and I spoke to about two dozen people who had traveled to Medjugorje.
Each of them had a unique, and faith building experience, including seeing "the miracle of the sun" ( where the sun turns multicolored, and 'dances' in the sky).
I have personally seen this myself, in my car on Brighton Road, at Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst.
The sun changed into a football like shape, (with rainbow stripes,horizontal) about the size of two full moons, and zig-zagged about 5 seconds, then returned to normal.
I thus believe that Medjugorje is true.
There is lots of thought provoking, and spiritually educational material on these sites!
