Now for a few creature comforts and some cosmetic work!
With the basic mechanical needs out of the way, I turned to the interior. First to go was the weird brown carpet. It was replaced with a fitted black piece. Next to go were the dash mounted altimeter and pull down window shades screwed to the roof of the cab. The seat was in great shape, no tears in the original red and white upholstery under the ratty red saddle blanket cover. I plan on recovering the seat in grey but for now I installed a new grey saddle blanket cover. The old arm rests and sun visors were toast so we installed new grey and black replacements. I installed a Custom Electrical Specialists radio and kick panel speakers so I wouldn't have to cut on the cab to have FM stereo tunes. In my opinion the quality of this audio set up is pretty lame for the money. I'm not impressed, but it's better than the original AM radio. The steering wheel was recovered with a nice black leather piece. The old mis matched seat belts were tossed for a new GM style set in grey.

The next job was to get the tailgate spruced up and back on the truck. I had it stripped, then did a little bondo work and painted it. It's my first attempt at auto painting, not perfect but better than what I started with.
I hate body work!
Rookie paint job
Installed with some new stick on letters
Next, major changes!
