Regional JailLast year CCSJ sponsored a town meeting focusing on the new North Central
Regional Jail. Now that the regional jail has been operating for seven
months, CCSJ feels that it is time to go back and reexamine the issues
surrounding the jail and hold another town meeting. There have been allegations
from inmates, police officers, lawyers, prosecutors, and judges that the
regional jail is not accommodating the needs of the inmates. Allegedly,
the inmates are not provided with work release, community service opportunities,
drug rehabilitation, or even opportunities to meet with family and counsel.
If you are interested in meeting to organize another town meeting on the
regional jail issue, please contact Michael
Sharley at 292-6075. |
