January
21st Trail Ride

 Our
January club trail ride is scheduled for Saturday, January
21st at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park in
Marietta. This will be a Level 1 ride as I’m sure most
of you, like my horse and me, haven’t been out riding
as much as we would have loved to throughout this holiday
season. Ride out time will be 10:30 A.M. Hope to see you there,
especially since it’s a great local trail ride!
Directions
to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Horse Parking
There is only one designated horse trailer parking area for
the park. The designated parking area is located off the Cheatham
Hill Road, about 200 feet north from the intersection with
Powder Springs Road (near Kolb’s Farm). Use a state
highway map if necessary to locate GA-120 where it passes
through Marietta, GA. If you are traveling west on GA-120
from Marietta (called Dallas Highway in that area), turn left
on John Ward Road. John Ward Road is perhaps five miles west
of the Marietta Square. Turn at the first left turn onto Cheatham
Hill Road and proceed to the parking area. Similarly if you
are traveling east on GA-120 coming from the Dallas region,
turn right onto John Ward Road and follow the directions above.
For
folks coming south on I-75 or I-575, you may choose to exit
onto Barrett Parkway and take it west and south across US-41
and continue on until you reach GA-120 (Dallas Highway). Turn
left towards Marietta; proceed about one mile and turn right
on John Ward Road. Follow above directions to the parking
lot.

2006 Ride Schedule
The Board of Directors discusses and approves all monthly
club rides. When
feasible, two levels of rides will be held at the same
location on the same day. The details of each ride will be provided
in a specific article describing that ride and driving
directions to the parking location.
As always, ride locations and dates may change
as the final details are planned.
