Mission: Impossible 2
Directed by: John Woo
Starring: Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames
Thandie Newton.
R: PG-13
GOOD THINGS:
Playing Ethan Hunt, a top-notch spy, Tom Cruise is his most "kick-ass"
character yet. This intense film keeps audiences on the edge of their seats
the entire time. Every action sequence was geniusly shot at just the right
position and angle. I constantly found myself watching with a gaping mouth
thinking, "How the hell did they do that?!" Casting: great. Acting: great.
Storyline: great. Mission: Impossible - 2 is, without a doubt, this
year's best action film (I don't feel right comparing action to drama,
comedy, etc. So I won't go there).
BAD THINGS:
I find that it is a real stretch to pick out flaws in this movie (not to
mention the fact that it even makes me feel guilty to insult something so
amazing). If you are the type that watches action films thinking, "Yeah,
right. Like that would really happen," then maybe this movie isn't for you.
And if you are that way, an opinion to express that might be of some value
to you: "If everything in every movie was completely realistic, then I
wouldn't like to watch them so much. It's that IMPOSSIBLE nature of films
like these that make entertainment great. So SHUT UP, STOP COMPLAINING, AND
JUST ENJOY THIS GREAT WORK OF ART!"
Grade:
(keep in mind that I don't know if any movie will ever achieve my
A+ rating)
