Q: What advantages are there from fitting a reversing/parking system to my car?
A: Installing a reversing and parking system will bring several advantages. Blind spots when reversing/parking would be virtually eliminated due to enhanced visibility and/or sensor warnings. Not only will this reduce the incidence of damage to the car from reversing into obstacles, but it could also eliminate tragic accidents. 17 children have been killed by reversing cars in driveways in a 3 year period in NSW alone. Q: How do they work?
A: The voice indicator and sensor systems have up to 4 sensors which are located in the rear bumper bar. These sensors will emit an ultrasonic signal detecting any obstacles at the rear of the vehicle . The system will give the driver a warning sound or simulated voice alarm.
The sensors are connected to a small processing unit that is placed inside the car,usually out of sight behind the trim. They have a small speaker or buzzer that alerts the driver if there is an obstacle at the rear of the car.
Our reversing camera/ monitor systems has a miniature colour camera and a 3.5" colour LCD flat screen monitor. This allows the driver a clear view of the rear of the vehicle at the area which may not be visible in the rear view mirror alone.
Q: Can I fit the system myself?
A: Yes you can. Full instructions are included with kit. No special skills are required, but we would recommend fitting by an experienced auto electrician.
Q: I have a Horse float. Is there any way of connecting one of the camera systems to allow me to view my horses inside the float from the car?
A: All three kits have two camera inputs. It is possible to connect the towing vehicle to the horse float with a weatherproof connecting cable. Extra cameras are available. We are also able to fit camera systems to caravans and trailers.
Q: Are the systems able to be fitted to ALL makes of car or van?
A: Yes but certain conditions need to be taken into account ie: monitor mounting would differ in cars with side impact airbags.
Q: Can the sensor system be colour matched to my car?
A: Yes. We can colour match a system to blend into the bumper of your vehicle.
Q: Are cameras and sensors waterproof?
A: Yes. Camera brackets and fittings are stainless steel. VDI sensors are housed in durable plastic.
Q: Are the systems compatible with 24 volt truck or bus system.
A: Yes, with the use of a voltage adapter.
