Chemung County Pagan Pride Mission Statement:
The mission of the Chemung County Pagan Pride Day is to promote religious diversity in our area and surrounding communities by providing a yearly gathering for food, fun and fellowship where those of ALL faiths are welcome to come and learn about the minority faith called Paganism.

At Chemung County Pagan Pride, we work to keep our purpose balanced through the inspirations of
Earth - Community,  Air - Education, Fire - Activism and Water - Charity.

EARTH - Community:
We're never going to be able to practice openly if we don't know anyone else in our Pagan Community. We need to weave networking webs to support on another.  That support will show those who would restrict our practices that we are not just a few isolated people, but a growing congregation of people who adhere to a faith that, while different, is as valid as their own.
AIR - Education:
To educate the public, the Chemung County Pagan Pride Day has display tables that include pamphlets to inform the public about who we are and what we do.  We have books, Tarot decks, and other ritual items for people to view and ask questions about.  Volunteers bring items from their personal altars for display.  We hold various workshops.  Previous years' workshops have covered Tarot, Runes, Ecology, Alchemy, Herbalism, Healing Paths, and many other topics!
FIRE - Activism:
We have to have the courage to act on our convictions and show people in our community that our faith is as committed to honoring God as we know Him/Her as their faith..  This can be as simple as coming out of the "broom closet" and letting people know we are Pagans.
Water - Charity:
The Chemung County Pagan Pride Day Community Service Project has been collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.  Since the first Pagan Pride Day in Elmira in 2001 we have collected over 400 pounds of food!!
