Huang Ju

Huang Ju, born in 1937 in Zhejiang province, has served as a member of the politburo since 1994 and is currently the Shanghai Party Secretary.  He became the mayor Shanghai in 1991, succeeding Zhu Rong Ji. He is another technocrat with a degree in electrical engineering and widely known to have close ties to both Jiang Ze Min and Zhu Rong Ji during their time together in the Shanghai party machine.  When both were promoted to Beijing, Huang Ju stayed in Shanghai to continue managing China's most valuable city.
