When Steve finally caught up to Clint and I, he collasped onto the massage table.
The pace for the first 40 miles had killed him. He would spend the rest of the day riding in pain trying to keep up.
I was pretty confident that I would win at this point. I had conserved my energy and was ready to ride.
All I had to do was beat Clint uphill. Steve was almost 15 minutes behind here
It was a grueling pace set by Clint all afternoon we chased him.
Steve spent the day falling off the back on the climbs and them catching up on the downhill
I was looking forward to this rest stop after the last climb of the day. I knew now I would not beat Clint, he was 3 minutes ahead of me after the hills.
There Steve and I sat, totally exhausted on the truck while Clint was jogging in place to keep his heart rate up. We were beaten at this point.
