| The beginning of the month was marked by the Womens World Day of Prayer which was held this year at the Salvation Army. It is sad to say that it was poorly attended this year. We were very happy to welcome Brenda Gauntley on 13th March. Brenda showed us how to use fresh flowers to enhance a basket containing flowering and green plants. The results were very effective! One lucky person won one of the baskets, in the raffle and others were sold to aid our funds. Thank you , once again Brenda for a most interesting and informative afternoon. We learned a lot. On March 20th we held our Annual Genral Meeting, which was very well attended. The Officers elected for the coming year are:- CHAIR Hazel Dean VICE CHAIR Vera Hall SECRETARY Janet Dethick TREASURER Joyce Bates SICK VISITORS Mary Whiteside, June Fraser COMMITTEE Iris Petit, Cynthia Gabbitas, Rose Marie Russell The final meeting of the month was held on the 27th. This was our Holy Week Service, when the Rector gave a most thought provoking sermon and Arthur Stamper accompanied our lovely Passiontide hymns. We are now looking forward to celebrating Easter together . |
