| It�s time once again to start looking ahead to Christian Aid Week which begins on Sunday 12th May to the 18th. The theme for Christian Aid Week , this year is �International Trade� and focuses on Christian Aid�s new trade campaign, �Trade for Life�. Christian Aid, is campaigning with others to change the rules of international trade and to make tackling poverty their main aim.They want trade rules re-written to ensure that rich countries as well as the poor ones abide by them , and so endevour to end poverty. St. John�s project this year, is to hold another popular�Soup and Sale� event. This will take place at the Church Hall on Thursday 16th May, 12-2pm. Tea and Coffee will also be available. We are arranging for several stalls, namely ;- Home made cakes Marmalade Fair trade Chocolate Biscuits Books and Jigsaws New unwanted gifts, Good as new Items (but not bric a brac ) Tin Stall. Donations to the stalls will be most appreciated The soup has already been donated for which we are very grateful. We are hopeful of a good response to our appeal for biscuits and tinned goods and of course anything that you can contribute. An Update next Month! Joyce |
