As many of you know, my dad, Eric Jenkinson, died on 9th March. For many years he has helped us put the magazine together and so it has been a very emotional task, not only for me but for the Rector and Joyce also to compile this issue
I and my sons John , Terry, and Andrew would like to thank everyone for their kindness and cards. Your thoughts and prayers were deeply appreciated. When we needed friends, they were certainly there.
Thank you to the Rector, for a wonderful Service both at Church and at the Crematorium, to Arthur and the Choir for being there. The Fellowship of the Services turned out in full strength including members from the Chesterfield and District Messes and Staveley 433 Mess Choir who sang Last in the Book, to conclude the service at the crematorium. There were two Standard Bearers, one with the R.A.S.C. Standard, and one carrying the British Legion Standard. A lovely Lady Bugler, named Katy, from the R.A.S.C. blew Last Post, and Reveille thank you all, It made me so proud that I am his daughter.
At a time like this, when you cant think straight, its comforting to know that there are people like Julie and Derek Bingham, to help and look you . Shryl and her mum, Margaret, were there lending a hand and so were Mary, Sheila and Marie, not forgetting Pam, who was there for me , arranging Floral Tributes. Your words and actions will stay with me for a long time to come-they help ease the pain and hurt of getting used to life without the physical presence of My Dad, showing me the way.
THANK YOU
