The Siren's Call

Down the trail many heard the call.
"Come away with me."

Treasure awaits across the divide.

Grain elevators stand a beacon to travelers.

Other's came this way from Missouri.
Natives, Spanish Missionaries, Lewis and Clark;
Fur trappers, grandpa Zek Williams surveying;
He made Cole Camp, Missouri home.
The Santa Fe Trail angled south.
Zek followed as a muleskinner.
The Great Migration, Wells Fargo; Pony Express,
Telegraph, the Rail Roads; Grandpa Ivan Snyder fixed
track to CA.
Many passed down an ancient trail.
Many marveled at the Siren's call.
Only to find paradise or agony.
How bad could it be?
They all passed through Misery, Missouri.
