Peace in the Storm
We all are so lucky that we NEVER have to go through anything alone.  No matter what our situation, no matter what our circumstances.  God is always there!  Psalm 18:30 tells us where to find our peace in the storm.  "As for God, his way is perfect; the WORD of the Lord is flawless.  He is a shield for all who take refuge in him."  No matter what journey you are on, God's word, the Bible, will bring you peace.  There is nothing more important than a personal RELATIONSHIP with God.  He sent his only son, Jesus to die on the cross for all of us.  God brought Cameron and I through this journey, and continues to do so.  I know that you can't get through anything without God, but you can get through everything with him!  We have grown so close to our Father through this journey.  God ministered to me through my time in the word, and I have written down just a few of the many verses He used to comfort me.  It is my hope that it will bless all who read them, and bring glory to God.

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  I know that even though Elijah was not with me long, God used it to prosper us and not to harm us!

Hebrews 13:5-6
"God has said, never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.  So we say in confidence, the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid."

Psalm 147:3
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds"

Psalm 115:2-3
"Why do the nations say, 'where is their god?' Our God is in heaven, He does whatever pleases Him!"
I love this verse, because it is so easy for us to question God, or even for unbelievers to try to say there is no God, just because bad things happen.  God is in ultimate control, and I love him for it!

Luke 22:82
"Father if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

Job 1:8
"Then the Lord said to Satan, 'Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.'"  This is kind of an answer to Psalm 115:2-3, because not only is there a God, but many times we are given hard times because we can glorify God in them, and He knows that, and is going to use us for His purposes!

Job 2:9-10
"His wife said to him, 'Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!'  He replied, 'You are talking like a foolish woman.  Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?'  In all this Job did not sin in what he said."

2 Corinthians 12:8-10
"Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.  But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.  That is why for Christ's sake, I delight in my weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties, for when I am weak, then I am strong."

Psalm 119:28-32, 50
"My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.  Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law.  I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws.  I hold fast to your statutes, O Lord; do not let me be put to shame.  I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.  My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life."

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
"Therefore we do not lose heart. though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighes them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Psalm 42:5
"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."

Job 1:20-21
"At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head.  Then he fell to the ground in worship and said, 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.'"

Hebrews 11:1
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

2 Corinthians 2:9
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."

This was only some of the peace God gave us through this, I want to encourage anyone going through a hard time to draw near to God...He wants to comfort you and bring you to Him.  The only way to do that is through God's word.  Nothing else is needed.  Not even the greatest Christian author can give you what God does through his word alone!
