Game Summary: JJ Cross River

Carmel took home the First Place trophy in the Brewster Tournament for the second year in a row with a 4-0 win over John Jay Cross River Saturday night. The team came out on fire, having several quality chances and not letting John Jay out of their end. Luke Shkreli opened up the scoring 18 minutes into the first half by beating several defenders and driving the ball past the keeper. Four minutes later, Luke brought the ball down again, this time finding T.J Helly who put the ball in for his fourth goal of the season. Luke wasn't done yet and three minutes later, he gave a bouncing ball to Chris Carey and Chris full volleyed it into the back of the net. Carmel's Keeper, Brett Southard, only had to handle the ball once or twice during the entire half. Carmel continued to play well in the second half and Dale Battaglia finished up the scoring with his first goal of the season 15 minutes left in the game. Luke "Don't be scARed" Shkreli took home the tournament MVP award and Brett Southard, T.J. Helly, Kyle Hengel and Chris Dieck were all named to the All Tournament team.
