Late evening in December at Lake Louise Lodge Alaska
On our hunting trip to Lake Louise
November 6, 2001 a large solar flare cause this awesome display in my back yard
Every eleventh year our sun reaches it "Solar Maximum". This means the number of sunspots peak.  Large quanities of electrically charged solar particals are pushed into space. When these particals reach the earths atmospher they become fuel for the Northern  and Southern lights.  This is also reffered to as a Coronal Mass Ejections.  See more pictures below..
