Enrich your life and the lives of your family�
by hosting an international exchange student.
Why become a host family? By becoming  a volunteer host family, you offer your family a learning  experience that cannot be duplicated by any textbook. Sharing meals, traditions, and daily conversations with an exchange student will make you feel at home with what might have once been a completely foreign culture. Countries, languages, and cultures come to life through the experience of cultural   exchange. Plus, you help a fine young person from another  country.

Who may host?
Host families come from many religious, economic, and racial  backgrounds.

We are working parents, childless couples, single people, and couples whose children have grown.

We live  in houses, apartments, suburbs, cities, villages, or on farms. Our most important contribution is providing a secure and loving home.

What does Hosting Involve?
Host families provide room and board.

Students arrive with their own medical insurance and spending money. Students share in household responsibilities as well as in leisure activities.

Students often may share a bedroom with a host sibling of the same sex and close to the same age.�

Who are the exchange students?
International high-school students come to the US from countries around the world to experience the culture and  everyday life of an American family just like yours. Most    exchange students come here for 5 or 10 months (one semester or two).

All students are screened before arrival and meet the  specific language, academic, and personal qualifications as  required for the program.

The kids come to live with host families while studying at community high schools for either an academic year or semester. Students are encouraged to participate in school-sponsored sports and activities.�They also are encouraged to take part in community service programs.
