Cannon County Schools Dress Code
effective 08/15/00
1.  No caps, hats, bandannas, visors, or sunglasses.
2.  No body piercing, except for ears.
3.  No article of clothing or accessory with reference to drugs, death, alcohol, violence, sex, profanity, tobacco, or with names or pictures of people or events that promote such things, including wrestling.
4.  Shirts/blouses/dresses must cover the midriff AT ALL TIMES.  Sleeveless shirts are permitted, but they must be fitted around the arms.  No tank tops.
5.  Fitted shorts in solid color twill or denim must be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
6.  Pants or overalls should be full-length and fitted and should not be too tight or too loose as to cause a distraction.
7.  Clothing must be hemmed and contain no holes, cuts, tears, or frays.
8.  Skirts or dresses must be at least knee-length.
9.  No exposed undergarments or revealing clothing.
10.  No trench coats or western dusters.
11.  No distracting clothing or appearance.  Students shall not wear excessive jewelry, dog collars, Gothic or gang-related paraphenalia or dress.  Hair color must be in the natural spectrum.
12.  Wind suits are allowed as long as they do not open down the side.  No sweat suits or sweat pants.

CONSEQUENCES for non-compliance:
Students will be disciplined according to School Board Policy and student dress must be brought into compliance before a student may attend class.
