FELINE BEHAVIOR TIPS..........
To reduce any inappropriate elimination or accidents introduce your new cat or kitten to the litter box for the first day or two.
Using an ammonia based product to clean up any messes will just attact your new pet back to that same location because of the natural ammonia in its urine.
Instead, use an odor neutralizer with stain remover.  To make your own neutralizer, mix one part white vinegar to one part water (be sure to check your rugs for color- fastness first).

To avoid any inappropriate scratching on the furniture keep your pet's nails trimmed and a scratching post or board available.
Sprinkle catnip on or around the post/ board to attract your pet to it.
Toys, such as balls with bells inside and well sewn catnip toys are important for entertainment as well as exercise.  Check toys periodically for loose threads or parts that could become choking hazards.  Never give your cat or kitten thread or string to play with as it could cause serious internal injuries if swallowed.
