Robyn Reeves Lana, CCC’s Founder/Managing Artistic Director and Conductor of Bel Canto and Girl Choirs, earned both Bachelor and Master degrees in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. With a focus in Choral Conducting, Mrs. Lana earned a Cognate in Voice under Miss Jeanine Philippe and studied extensively with Dr. John Leman and Dr. Karen Wolff, as well as Dr. Earl Rivers and Dr. Elmer Thomas. Level III Orff-Schulwerk Certified, she has done post-graduate work with Henry Leck at Butler University. 

            Mrs. Lana began her training with children’s choirs under Dr. Karen Wolff, Founder of the CCM Children’s Choir, in 1983 and continued her work in the program through 1993. An experienced general music specialist in public and private schools, she has also worked in churches with musicians of all ages and has taught voice privately.

            Mrs. Lana has prepared choirs for performance with the Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Pops, the Vocal Arts Ensemble, international festivals and CCM choirs and orchestras. 

            In addition to preparing the choir for two compact disc releases, Mrs. Lana has prepared them for a recording session with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Erich Kunzel for the Telarc label.

            Mrs. Lana is a sought after children’s choir clinician/conductor and has presented techniques for educating and performing chamber music for young children at the Chamber Music America National Convention.  Presently, she devotes her professional life to the growth, development, and artistry of CCC and is Educational Coordinator/Hostess for the Linton Chamber Music Series’ Peanut Butter and Jam Sessions, a Post Corbett Award winning classical music concert series for preschool age children. 

            Mrs. Lana is published in The Chorister, the publication for the Choristers Guild, and is a member of ACDA, Chorus America, OAKE, and AOSA serving as a board member of the local AOSA chapter.

 

Laura Holland, Associate Director of CCC and Conductor of the Preparatory and Lyric Choirs, is a native of Cincinnati and has been with CCC since its inception.  She received her Bachelor of Music in Education with a cognate in voice from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

             Mrs. Holland has served as a general music specialist and choir director, grades 1 – 8 and has had the pleasure of preparing school groups for performances at Music Hall with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, for the swearing-in ceremony of Joe Deters as State Treasurer and for a benefit to protect the endangered cheetahs in conjunction with the Broadway Series and the Cincinnati Zoo.  Mrs. Holland received training in Orff-Schulwerk at the University of St. Thomas and is currently past-president of the local Orff chapter.  She has served on planning committees for the Association for the Advancement of Arts Education, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Advisory Committee of Education, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Sound Discoveries program and as team leader for the Arts Connections program to promote arts across the curriculum.

            Mrs. Holland is a certified Kindermusik instructor and teaches music classes for children age 18 months to five years.  She is a private voice and piano teacher and performs professionally in churches throughout the Tristate.  She has recorded two compact discs of sacred music, the latest released in 2000.  Mrs. Holland is a member of AOSA and ACDA.

 

Kathleen Maguire, Assistant Director and Conductor of Jubilate Choir, earned her Orff-Schulwerk Level 1 certification from Rene Boyer-Alexander at the University of Cincinnati.  Miss Maguire, a native of Washington, D.C., is a graduate of the Children’s Chorus of Washington under the direction of Joan Gregoryk.  Presently, she is studying choral conducting with Dr. Stephen Coker and is Conductor of Youth Choir Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church.

            Miss Maguire earned CCM’s John Leman Award in 2003 in recognition of choral excellence.  She is an educator and vocalist.  Her student teaching experience has been with David Bell at Winton Woods High School and Kathy Rodriguez at Winton Forest Elementary School.  Miss Maguire served as an intern under Robyn Lana with the Bel Canto Choir during the 2002-03 season.

            Miss Maguire is a member of ACDA, Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity for women, and OMEA where she is serving as President of the CCM Chapter,
