Ontario's new Condominium Act

and regulations were proclaimed on May 5, to provide protection
vital to consumers and to encourage the health of the condominium
industry, which now accounts for more than 40 per cent of new
housing starts in the province.
The modern Condominium Act and
regulations have been developed to meet the changing needs of
consumers and businesses, support a strong economy and help create
jobs.
The Act and regulations are
now in force, with the exception of the timing for calling annual
general meetings, which will be proclaimed on July 4, 2001.
