Project Description

The current intranet architecture of CSS is a mix of varied technologies. The intranet is been implemented with Lotus Domino and Lotus Notes. The intranet applications include stationary request, leave management system, employee info bank etc. The goal of the project is to setup the intranet using an open source model. The new architecture would use OpenLDAP for authentication and role delegation. SourceForge Enterprise Edition 3.2 is been used for project management. CVS is used as the source control mechanism. There would be a gradual porting of all the existing intranet applications to an open source model with PHP as the scripting language and PostgreSQL as the database.

Tasks Include

Involved in the design and development of the stationary request & LDAP schemer application.
Involved in developing a reporting module which will generate reports for the intranet applications in a XML based Intelliview reporting format.

Project Description

ISRO/ISTRAC (ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network) is using a TCP/IP based intranet for their operations, which includes the Telemetry, Tracking and Tele-command of the IRS satellites. They also use the same intranet for their administrative tasks. The goal of the project is to develop a tool, which will provide the following two functionalities. The instant messaging system, which is used to transfer text based messages between systems on the intranet. The monitoring system which monitors the amount of utilization of various services offered over the intranet and provides reports on various network factors such as the bandwidth utilization, number of requests handled by each server. A detailed study of the network architecture is undertaken. The system was developed using MFC and Win32API with extensive use of the WinPCAP and WinSock libraries.

Technology: Win32 API, MFC,ASP, WinPCAP & WinSock libraries.
