Running the homeschool goes better when I remember to ... start my day with God. I also have to remember to be flexible and see the opportunities God places before us.
The spiritual exercise or devotion that is most helpful to me is ... being aware of God's hand in everything around me. I try to thank him regularly, on a daily basis, for his small and large blessings. When I stay focused on the good things of God, it is hard to be negative.
The best advice my parents gave me is ... The Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do to you, and tell the truth regardless of the consequences.
When I'm having a bad day, I ... declare a "do your own school day." Christopher gets to select what and how he will learn, whil I putts outside or sew to regain my thankfulness for the blessings, calling, and talents God has given me.
When I'm about to loose my temper, I ... try to think what would Jesus do; not over react; and remember Christopher is a BOY, not myself, not a grown up, with a personality all his own.
Our child has taught us ... time together doing any activity will be the memories to last a lifetime. Reading a book on the swing or cleaning the house together is better than a new toy to play with all alone.
