Currently a homeschooling mother

Christian homeschool mother of two providing evaluations since 1996.  Evaluations are informal with parent and student showing and discussing what was covered in each subject area.  In addition to the daily log and portfolio, a list of books the student has read and/or read-alouds is encouraged.  They will be asked to read a passage from a book of their choosing.  Evaluations are conducted between March 1 and May 31 with a fee of $25 per student at my home and $30 in the State College area with discounts for multi-sibling families.  Call early (Feb/March) to secure a spot.  They usually fill up quickly.

Suggestions
In addition to the daily log and portfolio the following would be appreciated:
1. A copy of the objectives for the student's educational program.
2. A list of the books the student has read and a list of the books read aloud.
3. Have each student choose a book before the interview, and be ready to read aloud a favorite passage and tell briefly about the book.
4. The parent should give a brief evaluation (preferably written) of the student's progress and perhaps include goals they would like to achieve during the next year.
5. Have the student tell of an area in which they felt real progress the year and/or tell of some goals they would like to achieve during the next year.
6. The student is encouraged to tell about any extra curricular interests (dance, scouting, music, volunteering, etc.).  Any demonstrations are welcome!
