Experience
• Managed a branch library with a staff of eleven,
including all budgeting, maintenance, supervision and scheduling.
• Provided general reference at two state
universities, the central branches of three large public libraries, a community
college, a graduate film institute and a private high school; in person, by
telephone, and by mail. Provided
specialized reference in film history, Southwestern and Native American history
and literature, and the law.
• Used and demonstrated CD-ROMs, many OPACs, and
on-line databases (including the Internet) for students and the public; also
conducted on-line research. Designed World
Wide Web pages using HTML and XML.
• Helped supervise, design and implement automated
library databases, networks and a barcoded inventory control system.
• Provided collection development in literature and
fiction, particularly Southwestern literature.
Purchased and budgeted for a large regional library children’s
collection.
• Organized programming and outreach for children
and young adults.
• Full MARC cataloguer using OCLC and original
records; familiar with DDC and LCSH.
• Produced and edited with film, video and other
multimedia equipment for presentations and several video features.
• Wrote and edited library manuals and reports,
annotated bibliographies, legal memoranda and other research.
