OUR MEETINGS
When people think of Guides, they might think of doing chores
and sewing but they'd be wrong. Guides has changed a lot over the years
and is a lot of fun. Our activities include Chocolate nights, fashion
shows, sports events, cookouts, scavenger hunts and loads of other fun things. When you join Guides, you get to help
make the decisions about what we're going to do. Like last year, we
decided to go to Legoland! We're treated more like adults at Guides. It's
great to spend time with your friends where you can relax and have
fun.
We meet every Monday
evening at a local school hall. When everyone has arrived
we form into our patrols and march into a horseshoe formation.
Once we're in our horseshoe, we talk
about what we'll be doing that night.
Sometimes we break into
groups and work on badges, or go outdoors for
sports or a treasure hunt, or get
creative and make a craft. Sometimes we
work on a Go For It in our patrols,
or plan a big evening like a fashion show.
We've had fun with chocolate, tasted
fruits from around the world and made
piggies out of Easter eggs.
Many times there's more than one activity going
on so we'll rotate around to make
sure everyone has a chance to do everything.
At the end of our
meetings, we gather in our horseshoe again. We're
reminded of anything unusual we need
to bring to the following meeting as well
as any special events coming up.
Finally, we'll sing taps
and say goodnight.
Thanks to Charlotte and Jenny C. for helping with this page.
