SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY

We've been collecting things to assist others in their goals.  Our latest collection is of stamps.  We collect postage stamps from all over the world and trim the excess paper to about 1/4 of an inch.  Our Guider then passes them along to an organization that packages them up and sells them to raise money.  

Previously, we collected plastic bottle tops.  Who knew that they could be valuable?  The collected bottle tops are forwarded to a charity.  They then add them to other collections and finally take them to a recycling company where they receive payment for them based on weight.  

In October 2002 we held a

 Swim For Asthma

in support of the National Asthma Campaign

and we raised over £250.00!  

      16 Guides and 2 Guiders attended the event which was held at the HMS Collingwood pool.

The girls chose to swim either lengths (33 meters) or widths (14.5 meters).
