The wife said I need to put something here. Well here goes.

Pictured is what some will call letters and symbols wrote in some secret code.  Others would say this is a mathematical problem.  Although it does look like some screwy mumbo jumbo; it is a math formula. This is just one of many formulas used in Finite Math.  Along with being a formula, I say it is a result of a sick sense of humor by a demented person we regard as a mathematical genius.  The inventor of Finite Math probably rolls in his grave laughing as he watches numerous students rack their brain.  This could be the unspoken reason for the building of mental institutions. Although this is my second math class I still believe math should be 2+2. When a mutated breed of english letters and math numbers are used to explain what color ball you pick then there is a problem. I spent an entire day and only got about 6 or 7 problems completed using these formulas.  I'll not mention all the brain cells that gave up and sizzled away.  If you have ever seen the nutty professor "Eddie Murphy Version" then you'll remember towards the end the professor's intelligence deteriorated. That is how I feel after homework.

What is Finite Math? My mother will ask that. Well it focuses in areas such as critical thinking, linear equations, statistics, and probabilities just to name a few.  Statistics was easy before now. Such as statistics show that every 2nd baby born is a boy. Probability wasn't bad either. For example Auburn has a 1 in 1,000,000,000 chance to win a football game.  After I started the chapter on statistics/probability I had a flash back to the Twilight Zone. And now you have just entered the "OH HELL" zone. I was given a question “There is a 6 digit combination. First 2 are letters and the rest numbers. How many different combinations are there with and without repeating?" I came up with 504,000.  Then there is the card problem. "What is the probability of Jimmy pulling a red spade out of a deck of cards 3 independent times with and without replacement?"  I'm learning a valuable skill here that will one day help me cure the dreaded stuck on stupid disease people get. Well thinking that way helps to get through the class.  As you can tell I had to express myself about my class. If anyone has plans on taking the class please check out algebra at least it has reasonable outcomes. Just for information the answer to the card question above would be "0". There is not a red spade in cards.
