Happy Valentine's Day! According to the History Channel, Valentine's Day was started "in honor of" St. Valentine. He was a patroned Saint that opposed the "then" governing law that soldiers must be single and remain single. He was killed by the ruler of the kingdom. (OK, That is only one version, but its my favorite!)
As I have written before, I am a very lucky woman. My life, up until the last 8 years was a mess. Married to an abusive drunk, and trying to keep a dead end marriage together, "for my daughter's sake". Once I figured out I could do better on my own, no matter what I had to face, my journey to today started in earnest. Since then, I found myself, and was lucky enough to find a partner that is everything I could have piled into a fairytale huband, and more.
I honestly feel that Valentine's Day is honestly for the children and those looking to impress a potential mate. I have to say though, that in spite of that feeling, I use the day to take the opportunity once again to tell my husband how much I adore him and how lucky I am to have had him around now for 5 years! Love you Darling!
