Poor ugly little dog.

I met an amazing elderly couple today.  They were in there 90's!  The wife was a black female, the male a white male.  They had been married for 64 years!  I wanted so much to sit and talk about there life and experiences, but just didnt have the time.  I bet they could have told some good stories.  I was amazed by there sharpness and there sense of humor.  They kinda made me think that Bill and I would be just like them when we got older.  He was very hard of hearing, and she had a very hard time seeing things.   They were quick to make jokes about each others age, and ailments.  It was hilarious!  I really loved talking with them.

One thing I have been working with Raven on is becoming more sensitive to others.  Right now, she is at an age that she needs to know compassion, and caring.  Its a really hard thing to teach a child.  I know there are just some people out there that are just not sympathetic to others.  I just dont want my child to be one.    Her father is a very stone cold person.  The only time he experiences remorse, is when he is dealing with the consequences of his actions.  Other than that, he has no feelings for anything as long as he is getting what he wants.  I am so afraid Raven will be like him.  She and I are going to be doing several little projects in the community (H0use of Mercy and Our House) to let her see the benefitis of generosity, caring, sharing, and compassion.  I am hoping that this will be a good experience for her.

My gripe for today; Broke Back Mountain! Ok, if a mixed race couple can be married for 64 years ( they would have gotten married in 1942!) during the time of extreme racism and all that, then why cant the two cowboys have lived on a farm for the rest of there life?  I am sorry but I hate when a good love story goes sour!

My other gripe for today is about Finite Math!  I still cannot figure out the use for algebra.  Now, my husband and I are involved in this math class that ask you about sets and probabilities, and accents.  Its crazy!  It confirms in my mind how much I hate math.
