Tonight we went to yet another Cottonmouths game. The kids were quite upset at the outcome of the game, as the snakes were beat, 4-1 by the Huntsville AL team. Brandon said he did not like "that type of game". When I ask what he meant, he said that he didnt like when the snakes lost! Our team now travels to huntsville, and then home again Tuesday. We are blaming our friend Derick for not being at the game with his lucky jersey on for the loss of the game.
We also have Brandon's season opener for the Challenger little league baseball season tomorrow morning at 9AM! Brandon is really excited about playing again.
Looks like, IF all the paperwork is turned in, Brandon will have surgery on June 15th. We have talked at length with him about what is going to happen. He has an amazing attitude. He is a little nervous, but overall, he is ready to be a "flat-footer" again. One of the hardest things I have done in a while is talk to him about why he has to have the surgery. It killed me/us when he ask if he would be able to walk again. I would have loved to tell him yes, but I told him that I didnt think the surgery would be able to fix it, but he would be able to put weight on his feet a little easier because it will be on his whole foot, not just his toes. I surely do hope that he is able to stand a little bit after the surgery. I am going to see about getting an electric leg exercisor for him to use after the surgery. It makes your legs move like you are riding a bike, yet you put no weight on the legs, and you are lying down. The machine does all of the work. I dont know if this will help, but it sure wont hurt right?
Gotta go, I am beat!
