Birthday Party!!!! March 04, 2006

All I can say about yesterday is "Wow"!  My son and daughter had the best time ever at his party.  Brandon did not think it could get any better until we went to meet Grandma and Poppie, and accidentally got lost and ended up in Talladega Alabama at the Talladega Speedway!  We met up with Grandma and Poppie there, and then Brandon got his final birthday present from the CEO of RacingExprience.com, a high-speed 3 lap ride at Talladega!  It was amazing!  We kinda thought that Brandon would go slow because he was a little nervous, but as soon as they took off, Brandon give the thumbs up so the driver ended up reaching speeds over 165 mph!  He done his 3 laps, and when it was all over, he was in aww!  Al he could get out of his mouth is "that was AWESOME!!!"  It ws really nice because his sister, Grandma, Poppie, Dad, Me and his "crush" Cora, were all there to cheer him on.  I will post the pictures soon.

Oh yea, the party.  Here are the challenges we had 1: Baby Doo-Doo feast---The kids were so freaked out!  They had to eat doo-doo right from the diaper...(carmel and chocolate on wax paper).  Some were a little hesitant, but with 30 seconds we had a winner!  2: Egg pass.  The kids lined up on two teams, were blindfolded, and had to work together to crack eggs, pass them to the next person, and so forth until they got to the last person who got had a bowl to put them in.  Team 2 won with the most egg after 45 seconds.  That one was SOOO messy!  Challenge 3:Digging for gold...the kids had to put there hand in a bucket of bugs (crickets, earth worms, meal worms) or a bucket of fish and crawdads (claws removed) to find 3 matching coins. It was the best!  Austin, Brandon's friend who also has DMD,  was the leader of the pack on this challege.  I was blown away! Last challenge...Dirt pie, The kids had to dig 3 worms out of a "dirt" pie, using there mouths.  Can you believe this was the least messy of the challenges?  Oh yea, everytime the kids wanted a paper towel or wet wipe, they had to eat a "roach" or "fruit fly" jello giggler. (Raisens in jello look amazingly sick!)  They did not discover until the end that there were just raisens in there.

After the challenges, Bill had them bust the sponge bob pinata while I set up the cake and ice cream.  The kids had so much candy!  I know there parents are going to kill me, but I also sent home these little packages I got from Pet Land with a chocolate covered cricket, and a button that says "I ate a bug!"  After cake and ice cream, the kids spent the rest of the time (while waiting on parents) taking turns digging for money in the bug/fish pits.  3 of the kids begged for  fish and  crawdads to take home.  We said, "SURE! Take as many as you like!"  Well, the kids took care of ALL of them for us, so we were able to go straight to Talladega without dumping them out in the river.

I will post the pictures from this adventure soon.  Better run!
