Appeal Jesse Power’s Sentence in Kensington’s Case to the Supreme Court of Canada

An appeal for justice in Kensington’s case should be made to the Supreme Court of Canada. On June 13, 2003, the Court of Appeal of Ontario dismissed the Crown’s appeal for a stronger jail sentence for Jesse Power. Mr. Power infamously videotaped himself torturing, mutilating, and murdering Kensington. For this heinous crime of “stark horror,” as stated by the Crown, Mr. Power received a jail sentence of only 90 days to be served on weekends.
Although the Court of Appeal Judge David Doherty acknowledged that the act was not art but “torture for torture’s sake,” he even went so far as to say that Mr. Power “is a good person with considerable potential.” You can read the five page Court of Appeal decision at:
